GoPro shares are getting crushed following a report that said a GoPro camera may have been responsible for the seriousness of the skiing accident involving Formula One driver Michael Schumacher.
In early trade on Monday, shares of GoPro were down as much as 10% amid another day of broad market weakness, with the Nasdaq losing the most ground among the major averages.

According to Eurosport, French F1 commentator Jean-Louis Moncet told radio station Europe 1 that the problem for Schumacher was not his fall but the GoPro camera he had mounted to his helmet.

Per Yahoo's report: "'The problem for Michael was not the hit, but the mounting of the Go-Pro camera that he had on his helmet that injured his brain,' Moncet explained to the radio station."

So one douchebag's unproven opinion can cause an 8% drop in a stock price? He's not a fucking doctor he's a "commentator". Big difference.

The helmet's compromised where they drill holes to mount the camera.

The GoPro IPO was kind of a scam from the start. Just passing risk off to private investors after all of the good money has been made.

It's a crash waiting for a reason.

The camera mounts have 3M tape on the bottom. You can see it in the pic in the article linked above. There is no reason to drill and the mounts are small enough there is not room for any scres to fasten to anything. Gopro makes curved mounts that are made for helmets.

Raced F-1? Allegedly "smart enough" to have known...blah, blah, blah...???

If you read the manual included with any SNELL rated helmet it states not to attach ANYTHING to a helmet...period.
