That's also an academic discount. This software costs several thousand dollars.

Part files created in NX Learning Edition will not be able to be retrieved in the retail version, but can be retrieved in the full academic packages available to education establishments.

You will be able to develop the design skills needed for a successful career. By learning NX, you'll gain vital CAD/CAM skills that today's employers demand. With an NX background, you'll have a clear advantage in the industrial design, engineering or part manufacturing job markets.

Note: NX Learning Edition does not include NX CAE.

In other words, you can learn how to use the program but get no real use out of it unless you buy it.

It's $85,000 software practically given way, and you complain?

It's like a read-only version.

It's something to put on a resume, proficient in AutoCAD and NX 8.5

You made it sound too good to be true. It is. You made it sound like you get the full version for a very cheap price.

Not the case. You get the going price for the student/trial product --- which is obviously about ~$100.

It's not a trial version.

Eesh, cockhound/gerrytard is an idiot. I use both of these softwares. ACAD is absolutely the complete 2013 design suite fully functional. NX is a student version as stated and is NOT a trial. Gerrytard just hates to hate. He's an equal opportunity hater.

Yet my Office 365 University comes with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, and Outlook.

So what is this about student versions have less functionality?
