Even if you want to more narrowly define the Crusades to the wars against Islam starting in the medieval period your map still only scratches the surface. Much of North Africa saw Christian crusading activity. For example St. Louis died in a crusade in Tunisia in 1270 and in 1578 a Portuguese army and its king were lost in a crusade in Morocco.

The wars between Christianity and Islam left a legacy on both sides.

He forgot about the Mongol invasion that basically destroyed the Muslim world, and were marching to destroyed the Christian World in the 1200s.....And they would have no doubt, but plans changed.

Actually Muslims brought science and technology, asteonomy and medicine to Europe. If the Muslims hadn't conquered Spain Europeans may have still been living knee deep in their own feces.
