The #1 lie the doctor tells you that the flap they create heals but it never truly heals and remains a flap forever and if you are the type to always rub your eyes then getting lasik IS NOT for you.

Uneven cornea sufferers who also can not get glasses are also not a good candidate for lasik.

Doctors do not tell the full truth at all.

I know at least two people who had their Rentas torn a few months after the surgery.

Anyone who submits to elective surgery is out of their minds.

So many things can go wrong, and often do.

Post op infections are the scariest. A lot of the bacteria are antibiotic resistant.

Keep in mind that hospitals have a full surgery schedule. The doctors are rushed.

The operating rooms get turned over in minutes for the next case. There is cleaning done, but it's a rush.

So while you're sliced wide open , the supervising nurse is busting the doctors balls to hurry up, there is still tissue and fluids from the last operation in the room, and you're totally vulnerable to infections and mistakes.

Seriously though, this is why I still wear contacts. Too many stories about Lasik screw ups. Just like laser hair removal that is becoming more popular, too many people are left with horrific scars.

LOL, I looked up Negroplasty...thought it was real.

It looks like some of it has to do with postsurgery care. You have to use special eye drops for dry eye.

Had Lasik done 15yrs ago. Best money I ever spent period. had 20/700 and got to 20/20. Don't listen to these idiots. No more fighting with contacts and glasses.

Not my rentas. I need those. It is difficult to take this advice seriously.

Kenneth Karlin MD of Eye Physicians of Virginia, Mc Lean did a TLS for glaucoma on one eye then did the other about 10 months later.

He is God's gift to Fairfax County. I highly recommend him.

i"d sooner put my head in an oven than have elective surgery. When your option is eventual blindness it's hardly elective.
