A Libyan who has been held and interrogated for a week aboard a U.S. warship is now in New York awaiting trial on terrorism charges, U.S. officials said Monday.

The al-Qaida suspect, known as Abu Anas al-Libi, has been under federal indictment in New York for more than a decade. He's due to stand trial over whether he helped plan and conduct surveillance for the bombings of U.S. embassies in Africa in 1998.

Any description that includes the words "is now in New York awaiting trial on terrorism charges" when talking about how youre handling a terrorist mean you are not in fact kicking ass on terrorism. In fact youre doing the exact opposite treating them as a common criminal and assuring that were going to spend 10s of millions a trial that they may or may not be convicted and even if they are theyll just go to prison and create a whole new wave of domestic terrorists.
