Why are all of the politicians wearing purple ?

Purple ties, purple dresses, Purple wristbands, Purple shirts.......

I think it is meant to convey a middle-of-the-road political viewpoint ( not red or blue but a melding of the two).

However I really think all of those assholes "running" this country think they are better than us and are Imperial, like I was.

Only the royals could wear purple in the glory days of Rome.
