I would encourage all Arlington residents to stay apprised of the daily crime report published online by the ACPD. Pay attention to who is committing these crimes, the demographics and types of crime. When you do several facts become apparent. First most of these crimes are not committed by Arlington residents, and second, they are committed close to a Metro Station. So far in the last month there have been multiple robberies in Pentagon City and Crystal City, a robber shot and killed with his own gun in Pentagon City Mall parking garage, an armed robbery attempt in Ballston, a sexual assault in Crystal City and many property crimes as well. What can you do to protect yourself? Know your surroundings and obtaining a concealed carry permit is a good start.
