LOST DOG (SAMMY) - Please help us bring our boy home

Our sweet boy, Sammy, got scared while on a walk Halloween night and slipped out of his collar on Southampton Drive in the King's Park neighborhood of Springfield. He was being watched by friends, is not familiar with the neighborhood (we used to live in Falls Church, but moved to KY this summer and were just in town for a wedding) and is probably very scared. He may have been spotted off of Lake Braddock Road last night but we' had no luck on that lead.

Description: Sam is a 65 lb, neutered black lab mix who looks mostly like a lab but with a white patch on his chest and a curly tail (like an Akita). He has dark honey/brown eyes and also has little golden flecks in the fur on his legs, but you can't really tell unless you're up close. He is very friendly, loves humans and other dogs, but he was a rescue pup and is a little skittish around loud noises and sudden movements. He is well trained and will respond to "stay with me" "sit" "down" "stay", etc. He goes by a number of names, but primarily Sam, Sammy, Sammy Boy, Buddy, Buddy Boy and Fluff.

He is probably especially scared right now - he doesn't like to be alone for too long and he doesn't like being out in the rain. We think he would only approach a person if he is desperate or if they are accompanied by other dogs. He doesn't have a collar on but he is microchipped.

We are so upset and worried about our Sammy Boy. He needs to be with his family and we need him to come back home. We don't know what we'll do without him. Please do anything you can to help.
