Streetcars are a throwback to a time when there were far fewer cars on the roads. Theyre a terrible idea for modern conditions because they displace more automobiles than they replace, which makes comgestion worse and they make the streets more difficult for cars and busses. Then when you look at how outrageously expensive they are compared to busses which do a better job and dont make congestion worse, its clear that this type of so-called "mass transit solution" only rears its ugly head when corrupt politicians see an opprtunity to line their & and their friends pockets.
