Anyone know if Lee Prescott Drive ever crossed Pohick Creek? Found what looks like the remains of a bridge near Pohick Creek on a trail off Hatches Court.

Yea it connected the townhouses from Liberty Bell to the new houses on Hatches, it was a great short cut to go play some hoops at white oaks and dunk on those 6 ft rims.

Grapeshot, there was a bridge over Pohick at that location. In fact that was the original road for Silas Burke's Mill (the mill is nearby) and functioned as a road from the 1820's to the 1950's. The trail at the end of Hatches Ct follows the old road route and the old concrete bridge abutments are still there. The Park Authority is currently working on a project to build a new bridge crossing and complete the connection to Burke Road with a second trail to Burke Lake Road. Work should begin on it within the next 2 to 3 years.

I remember when I was about 3 or 4 there used to be a barn and a farmhouse back there on hatches; before the townhouses went up. Late 80s.

After viewing the area, is that the mill next to where Lake Hatch used to be?

That was the former driveway for that house (built in the 1920's) on Hatches Court.

I thought it was the bridge to the German Farm? I know the Bamboo at deadmans curve is the old driveway.

The remnants of that bridge are now gone because the bridge that carries the Liberty Bell Trail goes right over it.
