Just heard a large explosion sound (significantly larger than fireworks or the sound of somebody firing a pistol) in the Mount Vernon community vicinity Rt 1 and Buckman Rd at approximately 11:15 pm on Sat, 6 Oct 12. It was not not large enough to shake the building like happened during explosions that I experienced in Iraq but still akin to a nearby tree getting struck by lightning or a transformer exploding. Any ideas what it might have been? Still waiting for sirens/responders to investigate it. Just curious if anybody knows what happened.
