Immigration/Deportation Attorneys in Fairfax

Would like information/recommendations for attorney's that specialize in deportation of europeans that are in the process of being deported. Although this individual has lived in the country as a permament resident for 13 years with a green card. Her passport and green card was taken upon return from a trip by immigrations/customs. The reason...she had 2 separate charges of possession of pot, very small amount, that had been resolved in the courts with a fine. Anyone else been through this process under the same circumstances?

I used to have a few cards from different attorneys. Only name I could find at the moment was Cape Immigration Group 703-549-2599.

Resolved with a fine = convicted. Sounds like she's cooked.

Honestly, all she wants is her passport returned so she may leave the country back to her home country on her own...paying her own plane ticket. You would think that immigrations should be happy with this...saving taxpayers $$. It would appear, immigrations would prefer that they retain her and pay for her return at their earliest convenience, possible a year. Again at taxpayer $$$$$ only so they can keep their jobs!

Really? REALLY? She wants to pay an expensive lawyer to help her so she can pay for her own plane ticket?

Has she been to her embassy? They may be able to help get her passport back if it is a passport from her home country.

Yes she has been to her Embassy and they were of no help. She went to court on two separate charges on different dates, both times she did not have an attorney and just plead guilty, since it was such a minor offense, possession of a small amount of pot. Because she is not a US citizen...her parents are, they decide to play by their rules. What we have heard, her cases should be reopened over the small possession charges and have them dismissed since she was not represented. Don't think she wants to reopen the cases, just wants her passport back so she can go home.

Thanks all for the comments. This would be a very interesting case for someone that likes a challenge. With Obama's new non-deportation policy, the case files will be so backlogged, she might not be allowed to leave in 3 years....how a stupid is that? Would love to hear about other experiences.
