for all time... not joking. that list is not of convictions, so you should just chill about it.

I noted that a neighbor's traffic conviction no longer shows. Therefore, I conclude that items are withdrawn after some period of time, or she knew how to have it removed.

I noted that no convictions ever show.

Until you acquire enough convictions to take up an entire page.

The list only grows, never shrinks.

I have no mechanism in place to remove old entries.

Only one person has ever been removed from the arrest list, and it was at the request of the Fairfax County Police public information office. A data-entry error caused a minor to appear on the arrest list and I complied with their polite request to remove the entry.

I have plans to expand the list to allow comments on individual arrests (so people can defend themselves). I have a programmer working on this functionality now.

Jimmy, you state that your neighbors' traffic citation no longer appears on the list when it did previously? I am very curious about how this could be. Please email me at cary@fairfaxunderground.com with your search string. Thank you.

Initial search was by street name only and neighbor's name did not show; however, today I searched by last name only, and, lo and behold, name and violation information appeared. I may have overlooked the name on the street search, although I don't think so. I just ran the street again and neighbor's name did not appear.

My wife's infraction of several years ago no longer shows, either by street search or by her name. In this instance, I prefer to let sleeping dogs lay. I am very pleased with this useful tool--it identified the dealer in the neighborhood :-)
