police chase in fairfax city?

I was southbound on 123 stopped at a red light at the north st intersection (where Auld Shebeen is) and this 2 door red sports car going westbound on north st comes skidding around the corner and flying down the hill, now northbound on 123. I think "what an asshole" when two seconds later this city police car that was apparently hiding in the driveway of one of the houses on 123 at that intersection turns on his lights and siren and gives chase. After I continue through the intersection I decide to turn around and find the guy, wherever he ended up getting pulled over, so I can laugh at him. Well I didn't have to go far. Just about 200m downhill from that intersection I find the sports car in the driveway of one of the homes set back from the street and the cop car parked behind it, sticking halfway into the northbound lane of 123 causing traffic to have to swerve around it. Drivers side door wide open, as was the door of the cop car. Passenger side door halfway open. Nobody in sight. Happened about 8:15pm, 25 minutes ago. Anybody hear anything on the scanner or see a foot chase?

Think that's called a traffic stop, not a police chase.

I thought it odd for a traffic stop that a cop would leave his vehicle parked halfway into the only southbound lane of traffic on 123 when he had plenty of space to move into the driveway and that no driver or cop were visible at the scene. That's a very odd "traffic stop"

Possibly a stolen vehicle. Usually when those individuals are lit up, they give chase. Doubt the idiot got far. I'm sure we'll hear about on a release or weekly report.
