Homicide-Suicide in Rose Hill Area

A 48-year-old woman was fatally wounded by her 46-year-old boyfriend who then shot himself on Thursday, April 10. Police arrived at 5621 Overly Drive around 3:45 p.m., in reference to a possible suicide. The couple was located inside the home, both with apparent gunshot wounds to the upper body. They were pronounced dead at the scene. They were identified as Robert Persigehl, of 6800 Braddock Road in Annandale and Vanessa Miller, of 5621 Overly Drive in the Alexandria-area. Investigation determined that Persigehl shot Miller and then himself.
