Giants are going down.

RGIII....I could care less about the playoffs this year. I'll take 3 of the next 9 Superbowl titles please.

I was 10 years old when Rypien was throwing bombs all over the NFL. I remember how crazy the town got. The discourse, Art Monk, Capital Defense, Rollin with the Redskins, The Bandwagon.

I haven't been this optimistic about football in 20years. It's time to lay off Danny. He's going to be the honoree in a few ticker tape parades celebrating the Washington Redskins as the World Champions.

Hail yeah!

The Dallas win was all the better because Joe Duck and Aikmen were doing the broadcast.

I wish Danny would sync up some of his streaming radio station signals to the local cable/FiOs broadcasts around here. God forbid someone can actually hear anything coming out of his collection of useless radio signals.

Nice relaxing sunday, no stress

Just get to revel in 2 victories (in 5 days) for 11 days,,,

Beat Philly beat Dallas,,,

Just couldn't be any better

Until we play the Giants on Mon Night

If the Redskins win that game, it might be the start of a roll

But we're getting ahead of ourselves, just relax and enjoy

For 8 more days,,,

Shame Green Bay decided to hand the game to the Midgets.

The Skins game Monday night may not be for first, but is still huge. It’s nice to see the Skins are playing meaningful football in December. Didn’t expect them to make the playoffs, and don’t have any reasonable expectation that they will, but at least they have been fun to watch and trading to get RG3 looks like it was a smart move.

When Hazbeen gets fired after the season, I hope they can convince Lou Spanos to come back and take over the defensive coordinator position.

Prediction day,,,

So how important is this game Mon Night?

What's on the line?

Almost too much to list, but I'll try to hit the important ones,,,

Playoffs? Slow your roll playa, we'll talk playoffs the last week of the season, the Redskins don't control their destiny even if they win out,,,

Establishing themselves as a real, competitive franchise with reasonable expectaions for the future,,YES

Meaningful games in Dec,,,YES

A threat to win the EAST,,,YES

Beating every team in the division in the same season

Winning three games in a row

Continue to throw out records of futility,,,Winning at home, check,,,Beating rookie QB's, check, beating Dallas in Dallas on Thanksgiving, check

Winning on Monday Night Football, against the division leading, SuperBowl defending Champion Giants? ,,,,,?????

Big, that would be BIG,,,

RGIII has incredibly exceeded all expectations, an almost impossible task, making the two extra #1's and the 2nd rounder seem like a bargain,,,

He has stepped up to all the challenges, and played his best in the toughest situations

Monday will be the biggest test

I actually think Pierre Garcon makes a big difference, he brings an attitude and a swagger to the offense when he makes big plays,

This win would restore swagger to the whole team,,,

Washington 27

NY Giants 24

I think the Redskins quick scoring offense can hurt them in some ways. It only keeps the opponents defense on the field a short time if the Skins only come away with a field goal. The Skins defense is terrible and the opponents keep them on the field a longer time wearing them down making it easier to come away with 7 instead of 3.

Predictions, pt II

Philly plays Dallas on prime time Sunday night ,,,

This game is even more meaningless than the last time they played

I can't imagine the Cowboys losing this time, they have the better team and haven't completely given up

I'm sure the Eagles will get up as much as is still possible for this game, beating Dallas and dragging them down with them probably creates some motivation,,,

Just not enough

Dallas 45

Philly 10

The Redskins ran the ball well against them last time and are in a better position to run the ball ball this time with a healthy Garcon forcing the G-Men to respect the passing game more,,,

Hopefully that will wear down their defense by the second half,,,

Afraid you may be right. Biggest game for Shanahan so far. The Skins win and the playoff talk continues. They lose and everyone understands the reality that they are at least a year away, which is what they are. A win would be super sweet, but let's face it, the Giants and Eli have two rings for a reason.

That said, RG3 give the Skins a chance. Let's go Skins! :)

The Redskins could break another negative streak tonight, 10 straight losses at home on Mon Night,,,

Strangely, this actually gives me more confidence Washington can win

Since RGIII arrived, these type of streaks have been ended one after another

The last 11 days have been great, feeling the confidence and joy that comes with winning, now it's time to see if this roll is for real,,,

Plain and simple the Skins suck!

Skins will lose again tonight. Giants offense is converting way to many 3rd downs and holding the ball way to long. Giants have had the ball over 20 minutes in the first half, Skins barelyy 10. Skins defense is already tired and they really suck in the 2nd half.

Any of you idiots that thought the Skins were going to the playoffs, no f'ing way. Skins will be 7 - 9, if they're lucky.

I'm still not sure how the Redskins won that game exactly but what a huge win. It's hard to believe they were 3-6 and have rattled off 3 division wins in a row to get to 6-6. With the defense playing so poorly, it's clear that they need to continue to handoff to Morris, work the clock, score and keep the opposition's offense off the field. It's great to have meaningful NFL football here in Washington in December. We're not playoff bound by ANY MEANS...but we're closer than we were 3 weeks ago.

Prediction day,,,

So you say you have a streak,,,

Ravens are 15-0 after a loss,,,

Send in the streakbreaker

Every week, EVERY SINGLE WEEK, there is some streak that's suppose to be too big for the Redskins to overcome

And then it falls thanks to RGIII and the NEW Era team

I'll be more worried when there isn't some streak to overcome before a game

Washington can run the ball and stop the run, that is an advantage against the Ravens

Who is more likely to make the big plays to win the game, RGIII or Flacco?

I'll take RGIII

Washington 30

Baltimore 24

Dallas at Cincinnati

Bengals are a tough team, and they are playing for something

Cowboys defense just isn't going to be able to stop Dalton and co.

Bengals 27

Cowboys 17

Philly at Tampa Bay

I have no idea why I think the Eagles will win this game

Eagles 24

Bucs 20

New Orleans at NYG

If this game were being played in NO, this would be a tough game for the G-Men

In NY, in DEC, I just don't see the Giants losing

Both teams need this game badly but the Giants will blow them out

NYG 35

Saints 24

Every game this week has playoff implications, this is a Sun that will start to clear up the playoff picture,,,

Washington is going to need a turnover or two to win this

That game would have been for fun to watch had it been on Fox.

was glad to see Capt Kirk run in the 2pt conversion, i was thinking that if there was ever a time to do a QB draw, that was it. Still cant believe so many games have gong the skins way this season.

However the football gods are just setting us up for an other epic fail on week 17 against the cowboys.

Not sure how bad RGIII's knee is considering he was walking the side lines. If it was a season ending injury would he not have been kept in the locker room until the game ended?

Even if he is out for the season Cousins performance doesnt make me the think the season is over, and there is 3 game grace period i new starting QB can get because it often takes defenses that long to figure out how a guy plays.

Finally, glad to see they deactivated Banks, it was nice feel good story last season that went 13 games to long.

So, RG3 got nicked yesterday and the next hit to that knee could likely end his career? It sounds like they have to choose between...SHUTTING HIM DOWN FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON so the knee can properly heal and thus play for THE NEXT 10 YEARS or keep running him out there to finish off the knee in the hopes of getting into the playoffs and being blown out in the first round.

The Bears will probably lose to the Packers. That said, it looks like the Redskins will have to win out. No one wants to see them in the playoffs.

I could see the skins losing to the Browns, who would seem to the biggest patsy on the schedule and then beating PHL and DAL and not make the playoffs.

I actually rather them lose to the Browns and be put out of our misery than give PHL or Dal the satisfaction of ruining their playoffs hopes.

I just dont see them winning out. They have to lose to someone before the season ends.

Prediction day,,,,

I notice alot of the big name talking heads are starting to pick the Redskins to win the division,,,

And they're also predicting the Browns to beat them this weekend,,,

I don't know how much sense that makes,,,

Anyway, if you can't beat the Browns, who are better than they were at the beginning of the season, you really shouldn't be thinking playoffs,,,

"But winning 5 in a row is impossible!"

So ws winning 4 in a row against three division foes and a division leading Ravens

Dare to dream of 7, that's right, SEVEN in a row,,,

Redskins go into old school ground and pound mode and grind out the win,,,

Washington 24

Cleveland 17

Dallas at Pittsburgh

One of these underachievers is getting put out of their misery,,,

It's Dallas

Steelers 27

Cowboys 13

Giants at Atlanta

Atlanta seems like one of the kind of teams NY beats the crap out of

Expect to see crap all over the place,,,

Giants 34

Falcons 17

And that's exactly what will happen this Sunday, you don't even need to watch the games now,,,

Yeah two more shutouts this week. I guess after the AZ beat down in Seattle there is no shame in getting rolled.

Fortunately Cousins has an arm and made the D respect big plays down field.

The game plan this week also looked strong. Its been a few weeks seen we have seen the Skins play a complete 4 quarters of football.

Still dont want to underestimate the Iggles! But shit, when was the last time this team controlled their own destiny?

Redskins control the future. First place is theirs to win or lose. Hope they are up to it not another year as in the past of hoping someone else will win of lose so they can back into the playoffs.

I do not for one minute think there's a QB conspiracy in Washington, but for Cousins to make his first start on the road with so much at stake and win. That was a huge moment for him. If we don't draft him, that means it woulda' been Grossman and there's no way Rex wins that game. No way.

As I said last week, they've done nothing until NYG or SEA loses. Well, NYG got shut out. 2 games, 2 wins and they win the division and a trip to the playoffs.

I'm expecting the Eagles to play tough. I'm sure they and the cowgirls would love nothing more than to play spoiler. Hope the Skins don't overlook them.

Will they deactivate RGIII for another week?

I think they should feign as though they are going to play Cousins for the rest of the season and announce at the last minute that RGIII will start week 17.

Sonny said that RG3 will play vs Eagles. Not sure if he knows something that the rest of us don't but that's what he said.

I agree. Cousins kept his nerve and was very accurate with both missile-like passes and soft-touch ones. We're definitely good enough to get to the playoffs, but our secondary will betray us once there.

I'd like to see them start Cousins against PHI. If he gets down by 5 or more points and the game is within reach then run RG3 out there and close it out. I agree...don't overlook them but if you can beat PHI AND get RG3 another week of rest on the knee then that's win, win, and win.

Pierre Garcon's impact goes beyond his pass catching, he brings the attitude and I like it,,,

I think it played a role yesterday building Cousins confidence when things started off a little rocky

When the Browns wanted to try the intimidation crap, Garcon was the guy punking the bullies,,,

Since he's started playing at close to 100%, he's been setting a tone and bringing a swagger that the rest of the team responds to

I know I've brought that up before, but I think it's somewhat overlooked

He has become our Michael Irvin (on the field)

So who do we have to thank the most for the success of the Redskins this season?

Dan Snyder?

The Shanahans?

RGIII?

The O-line and the recievers?

My vote is for John Mara,,,

That's right, the bastard that cheated the Redskins and the Cowboys out of millions in cap space to keep them down,,,

The guy who tried to keep the Redskins from being able to trade for RGIII,,,

It's called Kharma

Now he can watch the Redskins and the Cowboys play for the division on the last week of the season

Prediction day,,,

Win and we're in,,,If the Redskins win and the Giants,Bears and Vikings lose,,,

We're in

Oh, and we have to beat Philly

Sure they're terrible, but this weekend they have a reason to get motivated for a game,to knock the Redskins out of the playoffs

That should keep it close foe a quarter or so

Washington 30

Eagles 17

Dallas will have more trouble with the Saints

Saints are playing for pride, and they have some

New Orleans 34

Dallas 27

Giants get the Ravens

This looked like it would be a tough game, both teams have something to play for,,,

The Ravens look done, Harbaugh better rally the troops or this will be one of the more epic collapses in recent history,,,

History will be made, the Giants don't lose these kind of games

NYG 27

Baltimore 20

It's possible the Redskins win and lock up the division if the Giants and Cowboys both lose those two tough games,,,

But we all know that won't happen

It's going down to the last week,,,

It seem very improbable that the will Ravens lose to all 4 NFC East teams. The have slight home field advantage since they are playing at M&T.

EDIT: Ravens beat the Cowboys week 6

I don't care what any of the other teams do. It's up to the Redskins to win the next two. Do that, they win the division. Everyone thinks they are going to, so maybe they won't. The Skins seem to do better when expected to lose. Or maybe that was the old Redskins, but that's what I'm use to so I don't like it when everyone is picking them to win.

I'm with you on preferring to be the underdog. It never fails that a DC sports team will collapse when under pressure. It doesn't matter which sport it is.

So far this year the Redskins have smashed all the negative streaks that dogged the team FOR YEARS,,,

I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, they have jelled, and, to their credit, overcome all kinds of injuries and suspensions

This season is the start of a NEW ERA, forget everything you knew about the Redskins of old,,,

I hope you’re right. No matter what happens, they have proven they can beat the odds and it’s been a fun season. I’m still in a good mood from the win on Thanksgiving.

Seeing the Skins vs Seahawks in the first round brings back to many painful memories. Both are completely different teams but SEA seems to have come into their own the past few weeks.

Fortunately the it would be home game for the Redskins and that is a huge disadvantage for the Seahawks. Because 1) They probably have the best home field advantage in the NFL 2) West coast teams typically underperform when traveling to the east coast.

I actually give Snyder a lot of credit,,he hired a someone to fix the team and hasn't interfered even when things looked bad as recently as six weeks ago,,,

It's hard for a billionaire with a huge ego to admit he was doing everything wrong and completely remove himself from the equation

In the NEW Era, Snyder is part of the solution, not the problem

Give credit when credit is due,,,

So the Redskins have a winning record and will at least tie with whoever wins the division,,,

And the last game of the season is a "playoff" game, winner take all,,,

AGAINST DALLAS

Really just an incredible dream of a season no matter what happens, but there is no other team we could play that would make the game bigger or better,,,

DALLAS

This game brings back the rivalry in a very real way, because someone is gonna be bitter Sunday night and for years to come

But this season really was one of my favorite ever,,,it just looked like another disaster after the Carolina game,,,, the injuries, the coaching, it looked like there needed to be big changes

AGAIN

Now we're on the verge of playoffs instead of counting the days to the draft

Sorry draft gurus, I dont need you anymore,,,

This team has what it needs, lots of,,,

THREE REDSKINS SELECTED TO PRO BOWL

Lorenzo Alexander, Robert Griffin III and Trent Williams all earn first career Pro Bowl nods

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The National Football League announced today that linebacker/special teamer Lorenzo Alexander, quarterback Robert Griffin III and tackle Trent Williams have all been selected to the 2013 Pro Bowl. The annual contest of the AFC and NFC's best will take place Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.

In addition, linebacker London Fletcher and running back Alfred Morris were selected as alternates.

Alexander, 29, is in his third season as Washington’s special teams captain. The two-time team recipient for Walter Payton Man of the Year has played eight different positions in six NFL seasons, but has earned acclaim as one of the top special teams players in the NFL. This season, Alexander has been credited by coaches with a team-high 29 special teams tackles. His 19 special teams tackles as credited by STATS, LLC are the most in the NFL.

Alexander is the first Redskin since long snapper Ethan Albright (2007) selected to the Pro Bowl on the basis of special teams play.

The Redskins selected Griffin III, 22, with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft last April, and despite being inactive in Week 15, Griffin III has completed 249-of-375 passes (66.4 percent) for 3,100 yards with 20 touchdowns, only five interceptions and a passer rating of 104.1. Griffin III already holds at least a share of team rookie records for passing attempts, pass completions, passing yards and passing touchdowns, and is on pace to set team rookie records for completion percentage and passer rating. In addition, he has rushed 114 times for 752 yards with six rushing touchdowns this season, all three of which are team records for a quarterback. His 6.6 yards per carry average leads the NFL among players with at least 100 rushing attempts.

Griffin III is the first rookie quarterback selected to the Pro Bowl in Redskins history. Prior to 2012, only six rookie quarterbacks in NFL history had been named to the Pro Bowl. He is the first offensive rookie for the Redskins to be selected to the Pro Bowl since running back Larry Brown in 1969. Griffin III is the first Redskin quarterback of any experience level to earn a Pro Bowl selection since Brad Johnson following the 1999 season. His selection is the 21st by a Redskins quarterback, joining Johnson, Gus Frerotte (1996), Mark Rypien (1989, 91), Jay Schroeder (1986), Joe Theismann (1982-83), Billy Kilmer (1972), Sonny Jurgensen (1964, 66-67, 69), Norm Snead (1963), Eddie LeBaron (1955, 57-58), Al Dorow (1956), Harry Gilmer (1950, 52) and Sammy Baugh (1951).

Williams, 24, is in his second season as an offensive captain for the Redskins. The first player drafted during Mike Shanahan’s tenure in Washington, Williams has blossomed into one of the league’s elite left tackles in his first three seasons since being selected No. 4 overall in the 2010 NFL Draft. Williams anchors an offensive line that has helped the Redskins average a league-high 162.3 rushing yards per game this season. He has helped rookie running back Alfred Morris shatter team rookie rushing records, as well as bring Morris to within 104 yards of breaking the Redskins’ single-season rushing record. Despite fighting several significant injuries throughout the season, Williams is one start on Sunday away from having started all 16 games in a season for the first time in his career.

Williams becomes the first Redskins offensive lineman selected to the Pro Bowl since Chris Samuels in 2008. With Williams’ first Pro Bowl selection and Samuels’ six career selections, the Redskins’ last seven Pro Bowl offensive linemen have all been left tackles. Williams’ selection is the 14th by a Redskins offensive tackle since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, joining Samuels (2001-02, 05-08), Jim Lachey (1990-91), Mark May (1988) and Joe Jacoby (1983-86).

With the Redskins’ selections this year, the team has had at least one Pro Bowl player for 19 straight seasons. The only year Washington has not had a Pro Bowler in team history was 1993. Shanahan has now coached players responsible for 73 Pro Bowl selections during his tenure as an NFL head coach. Shanahan has had at least one player selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his 19 seasons at the helm.

Not being a Redskins fan, I don't drink the RG3 koolade. I think Kirk Cousins is a better QB and I would be more worried if he was the starter. I actually think that RG3 is a handicap to the Redskins right now because he is not the same runner he was pre-injury. I am hoping the Cowboys rough him up, but not enough to knock him out of the game and have Cousins come in.
