I dont think its much of a stretch to assume that if you cant afford an attorney you cant afford to make payments.
If he signed fast just to get out chances are he ended up with an amount higher than it should have been and now its caught up to him since he is remarried and not just supporting himself but others as well.
Could be wrong and only the OP can tell us but thats just what I assumed they ment
