"I learned today that my bill to co-designate the East Sea as the name for the Sea of Japan in Virginia textbooks will be heard on Monday. I arranged to have people come down to Richmond to testify in favor of the bill. William Hong, president of the Virginia Korean American Association, agreed to come with a host of others."

Maybe we can rename Mexico too while were at it.

He's not alone in the name change. The sea was called East Sea prior to 1910 evidently, and many others are changing the name or at least using both names. (National Geographic Society for example)

Names change all the time. Zimbabwe was Rhodesia when I was a kid, for example.

Maybe we should change all the textbooks to read "Deustchland" instead of "Germany" while were at it.
