Anyone know what's going on its been flying around for 30 minutes

I wish I knew! I worked at home today in Fairfax City, VA and I have noticed SO many helicopters out today.. I can still hear them in the distance (I live near the Court House) and it has been NON-STOP all day long. Between them flying overhead to hearing them off to the distance - I am not sure what is going on, but one did fly over around 9pm with a spot light on as well... Anyone with any tips, it would be appreciated (leave the ear plug comments off the thread please).

Move to the country!?

If anyone is still awake, lives in Fairfax City and can go outside and listen to the helicopter sound - please do so... At least I can get confirmation that I'm not "crazy"! Thanks.

Helicopters over south Reston are a common occurrence because of all the criminals around there. For 7 years I lived in a townhouse development smack dab inbetween Shadowood and Winterthur, and police helicopters were frequently overhead. Just in the past year we noticed that criminal activity had increased by a lot. Thankfully we moved out of there this past August.

They are acquiring targets.

They're using infrared to spot all the Blacks. It's the only way to see them in the darkness.

Yep, I've been hearing it too. I happened to catch a small peak through the trees and it looks massive. At first I thought it was just a helicopter picking up at Reston Hospital but it looks way to big for that.

But yeah, 2 whirlybirds in formation flew east over Reston about 8:15.
