There is only one Sheriff and he has deputies that work under him. So, please be aware that it was a deputy that was accused, not the Sheriff of Fairfax County.

it seems like every week or so there's another story about a police officer or sheriff's deputy doing something wrong. ironic they don't even follow the same laws we pay them to uphold.

they still get caught committing far fewer felonies than the population at large... every apple tree has a few bad ones....

But that doesn't mean they don't commit them. I mean, look at when the bookie got shot. No charges got filed. That was straight murder.

I wasn't even close to saying they never commit them, I am just saying they seem to do ok given the statistical odds that they shouldn't.

That bookie thing should at least bother anyone who reads about it. I'm still not sure how the force that was equipped to move against the guy was justifiable, and obviously the outcome is outrageous and not acceptable.
