5-year-old abducted from Franconia home
Saturday - 8/27/2011, 2:14pm ET
FRANCONIA, Va. - A 5-year-old was abducted and assaulted early this morning, but police say she made it back home by herself.

Fairfax County police say that between midnight and 2 a.m., a man forced his way into a home on the 7,000 block of Brocton Court in Franconia.

He went upstairs and grabbed the 5-year-old from her bed. Then he took her to a nearby location and assaulted her.

Police say this was an unprecedented event because the girl actually made it back to her home around 4 a.m. The parents learned of the abduction once she returned home.

She was taken to a local hospital and is being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
