Landlord refuses to fix garbage disposal

Our landlord seems to think that they do not need to fix our broken garbage disposal, i have pressed the reset button several times with no luck. What are our options?

Is it jammed, i.e. you can hear a hum from the unit when you hit the switch but nothing is moving? Many models have an allen wrench hole smack in the middle of the bottom. Manually turn it a few times and then try the switch again.
