I just got ripped off by the same guy in Waldorf Maryland. He came to my place of business. I don't feel stup!d. I only paid $100 for two jackets. They look good for the moment. I cannot complain because this is a lesson learned I will never be the same mistake. Now I know what to be aware of.

Wanting to give me jacket for helping him, told him I'd trade him some speakers that I had in my van and they were extra stock and worth 3k. Same scam. Bald guy about 50 says he's from Milan. I just saw the above incident take place. Someone appeared very angry and was yelling at a gentleman driving a white rental SUV. After the angry person left I approached and asked what was going on. He said he was trying to get back to Italy and could not take his jackets with him. The angry person had evidently purchased some jackets and was unhappy with them.

He showed me the jackets he had and I looked them over very carefully. At first he wanted a lot of money for them but we negotiated down to 5 jackets for $100 which is $20 each. I examined each of the jackets individually and could not find anything wrong with them. They were all in new condition with no signs of wear. At first they did have a faint vinyl smell. However that has already gone away after hanging for a while, and they do not smell bad at all.

It seemed like a good deal and I'm sure I can easily resell them if I wanted to. Not sure what all the complaints are about?

Scam appears to of come to Simi Valley, California. One 35 year old Italian young man approached me outside of a Check Cashing location, where I was going. Same story, he was asking me for directions to LAX Airport to return to Italy. He just was finishing a "roadshow" where he had the job of setting up the Booth and Leather Jackets from the Emporio Collezione, AMRMNI COLLEZIONI, ERMENEGILDOZEGNA, Italian EXPORT He said he would be taxed on each jacket he had them with him at the Airport. Because I was nice to him, he would give me some jackets he had left over for myself and my girlfriend, of course he had both our sizes of a Medium and a Small. He said that he wanted to buy his wife and daughter (whose Birthday was coming up) gifts and anything would help, because he had only Euros, and didn't have time to make a money exchange before his fight took off. He had a good story, said I should look him up if I came to Italy, he gave me two Suede and two Leather Jackets. I gave him $100m for the Jackets and $20 for his gas, he got a sour disposition when he asked for more money for the gas and didn't get it. I asked to see photos of his daughter, he provided them on his Smart Phone, looked good to me, he was there with his two children, his wife and himself. Anyway, I don't know if the jackets are real but the story sounds the same as the scams going on. I took the Jackets, one of them fits me, the others I have to do whatever I'm going to do with them. I looked up the name of the Collection on the Internet and found the Scam information with the exact same Jacket approach and story by the individual who approached me. I cost me $120, and I got four Italian designer Jackets, maybe real, maybe not, but his story was good as was his business card with his name, 'Gianpaolo Donadoni, Fashion Events Organizer , his accent, and his photos of his family, so I bought it, even though, I too was thinking the whole thing was a scam, but I bought it...Marco

I'm from Toronto visiting someone in Oak Park, CA (a very small, family-oriented town). I was in a fairly empty parking lot with a Fresh & Easy. I was casually walking, exploring the neighborhood, when a man in a black SUV yelled at me and said, "Hi!" He told me to come over and opened the door, showing me three brand new, beautiful leather jackets in plastic wrapping. He tells me he's from Milano in a thick, Italian accent and had "extras" after a trip to a local retail store. He immediately grabbed a bag and put all three jackets in it and handed me the bag and said, "I want to give them to you." I was utterly confused and knew something was very fishy about the whole situation. The man was around 30-40 years old. He told me I can take them if I buy him an iPad (?). I told him I couldn't do that and he then offered to "just" charge me $100. I must admit, they were beautiful, brand new jackets, which was tempting, but I obviously refused. I was very determined to leave right away. He told me they'd look good on me, and he chose me because most Americans are "too big" to sell them to. I said he should probably take them back because I didn't have any money on me and that I didn't want to just take them in the middle of a parking lot. He reluctantly accepted, and told him his name was Gianpaolo Donadoni, selling items from the Armani Collezione, and gave me a card (the exact same information as the person from Simi Valley, which is about 30-45 minutes away; he obviously tried this multiple times today!). Anyways, steer clear, and beware of these bloody scammers - they have hit the whole nation as well as my own city! The whole situation was hilarious and his "Italian" accent was so stereotypical and strong, yet his English was perfect, which was an immediate give-away that this was a clear-cut scam.

This is pretty hilarious to see all these folks getting this exact same line, year after year after year. It just happened to me, but I'm actually cool with it. The relatively handsome guy was on his way to airport, etc. I even got his business card. Mr. Giuseppe L. This one was in Tarzana in front of a Peets. "Giuseppe" showed me his passport from Napoli. And a fair amount of buttcrack. LOL. I paid all of $80 for a nice looking suede knockoff jacket. I'll probably take it to the dry cleaner to see if they can get the smell down a little bit. If the color doesn't completely fade out from the dry cleaner or in the next rain, i'll be quite happy with it. I definitely knew this was a scam, but the jacket actually looks really good. Decent stitching, Decent zipper. Fits nice. Soft ultrasuede material, or whatever it is. It was a little bit of parking lot retail therapy.

In Concord, Ca. 1 Milano Italian fashion show, new collection Collezione, leather jackets, very nice...3 for $100...only 1 fit me barely but other two will fit my kids, one way or another. Same story I read above, Italy customs will charge him to bring his collection back into the country (true, they will with tags or new). Noticed price for so called legit, cost well over $1600 per, these look better and no odor...yet.

Everybody who posts updates on the whereabouts and tricks of these fuckers is doing an amazing job. This is the sole reason I didn't get scammed by one of these bitches with the same bullshit story. (Supposedly) Italian man/men, airport directions, Armani, duty taxes, business card, free Armani jackets, now $800 for 5 Armani jackets, Ipad for son, BS, BS, BS, etc.

Everybody else, who hasn't encountered them, please do us and yourself a favor, shut the fuck up. You know nothing about the situation. You've never met, seen, or talked with one so why offer up you're worthless fucking opinion? Yes...yes...yes we all know you're a genius, who knows how to handle every situation impeccably when it arises, so you feel the need to comment on anything and everything that catches your attention. Well please don't, it's idiotic which isn't very flattering for your genius. So next time you feel like typing a useless comment or post please stop yourself, grab the lotion, pull out your dildo from the drawer, and go fuck yourself. For a nice long and hard 15 min. It's far better time spent than what you were planning on doing.

Everybody whose posting relevantly about the fake Italian muthafuckers scamming people (extremely well by the way, really hard to see through unless you've encountered con artists before and know the usual tricks),
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE. I'm proof, was about to bite until I saw this thread. Thank you all, and I'm sorry if you feel for it. You live-and-learn,learn-and-live. We will catch at least one of them before long.

PS I also apologize if my rant causes more thread pollution. Had to mention something after the 20th stupid ass comment talking know-nothing shit.

So I had a similar run in while getting gas with a gentlemen asking for directions to the airport saying he just came from a fashion convention, he thanked me for being so nice and said he would give me his card and if I ever was in Italy to look him up, he would take care of me like family. He flashed a wad of cash and said he had six leather jackets that he didn't want to bring back because of the high taxes. I said OK he asked me to Pull up in a parking stall, it sounded super fishy I just jumped in my car and left

Just ran into these guys near the Costco lot in Arlington, VA. They said they were headed to the airport, which makes sense because it's nearby. They offered to sell me a jacket, and were asking an outrageous amount. After a bit of negotiation I ended up taking 5 jackets for $100. The quality seems fine and I have no complaints. No smell to the jackets as some have complained of.

The dudes were definitely shady, however $20 each is a reasonable price.

No smell to the jackets and the quality was good for what they are. Both the guidos are shady characters. Don't let them pull any funny business con games and don't give them your money until you have the jackets in hand and you should be ok.

They're in Sausalito, Ca. My husband knew it was a scam but we didn't really know what to do once the guy put the jackets and pants in our car! We had our two boys with us and even though we kept saying no, thank you... He kept telling us stories of how he needed money for his wife's birthday and he'd be willing to give us all these clothes just for a little cash. He said he'd follow us to the bank and got into his car. We never actually said we'd give him money. I started googling his name off the business card and saw all these posts! We drove to the Sausalito police a station, he flipped a u-turn faster than I've ever seen! Good luck sausalito police!

Hello. I'm currently located in the Los Angeles area off la Cienega at a gas station. These two guys wearing fancy clothing and shades pulled up next to me in their black suv with "Italian" accents claiming they can barely speak English. They even showed me their "Italian" passports. At first they asked for directions to lax airport, then suddenly steered of that topic and said they worked for Armani and couldn't bring all this perfume and cologne on the plane. I smelled their bs from far away. I was handed this card I will post. They were really pushing hard, asking how much I could give them, showing me the bag full of fake armani cologne, trying to get me to hold the bag and products. The whole thing felt very sketchy. Beware.

They brought up a website that had the same watches that they were trying to pass off. Dude stated let me get $500 for one of the watches and all 7 would be included. This madness happened today. Good thing for my experience with scammers of this nature from Atl. He showed me his passport, pulled out a wad of cash, and stated that he didn't need the money. I wasn't going for the okie-doke. Not my style! I told homeboy that I had $2 and he shook my hand and left. Then I look up this website and everyone has a similar story with these 2 crooks.

I saw them in London, UK yesterday so there must be a few of them around the world. Same story. Asked for direction to the Airport, then offered me free Armani Jackets and suits, which I declined.
Anyway he game me his card with following details:

Name: Marcello Christiano
Title: Gerogio Armani Manager (!)
Emai: emporio.a.@hotmail.com
Address: Via Monte Napoleone,3 - Milano ITALIA
Fax: 02 600893
Tel: 331 0887765

There were 2 guys in the car. The driver had tattoo on his knuckle.

Some guy stopped me at a gas station in West Saint Paul, Minnesota in a new body style Ford Escape with Kansas plates needing directions to the airport because he was going back to Italy, he then said for being so helpful he would give me a gift, he then showed me the leather jackets and kept asking how much money I could take out of the ATM

Was leaving Costco in Richmond, CA today (4/10/15) and yep, a friendly Italian guy pulls up in a black SUV and asked me for directions to San Francisco Airport. After some congenial banter, he gives me his "Giorgio Armani" business card with the name Pasquale A. on it. Now, for some reason, something clicked in my mind. Yep. Three years ago I was in Union Square and the same thing happened. Only THIS time, I tell him..."hey, you look familiar. In fact, you tried to scam me in downtown San Francisco." Costco guy looks totally surprised and says "WHAT? I'm sure it wasn't me. In fact, I'm going to report this incident to my boss at Giorgio." And off he goes.

HE ASKED FOR $300 AND ENDED UP TAKING ONLY $50.

I told him I was a Gorger, he knew exactly what I said, and left abruptly. For those uninformed a Gorger is a non-gypsy. How does CBSA let these guys through the border, especially when they (CDSA) scrutinize everyone else.

The same thing happened to me at Dixie-Dundas Walmart in Mississauga.
Italian guy with Red SUV. Same approach.. asking for directions and giving me 3 armani jackets and asking cash since he ran out of cash and is on the way back to italy... etc etc. I already sense it's a scam so I walk away.
Too bad I forgot to take pictures of the car at least as I was focused on my safety in case he has somebody around that might held me up.

Italian man in silver BMW SUV asked if I spoke English and if I was a model/actor. Needed directions to airport, flying to Italy that night and did not want to pay taxes on 3 leather Armani jackets.

Said he was a fashion designer and gave me his business card (attached).

It is 2015 and this just happened to me in Chicago Illinois obviously we know it's multiple people around the world but same thing happened this guy named Marco in a white Chevy suv only knew little English but asked if I knew Italian or Spanish needed help to the airport he said he was here for Chicago fashion week and worked for Giorgio Armani and he had three jackets "worth" $1500 or more and he showed me them, did the lighter crap to show me it was real then explained he didn't want to pay the tax to take them back to Italy but also showed me a card attached to the the tags and explained it was an account from Armani and I would be able to use that account for discounts on At Armani but he noticed I was not interested and asked if I used suits and then pulled another bag which had an Armani suit that was cashmere and he explained he would give me all the stuff if I would give him $800 to at least pay his car rental I was thinking then I told him I did not have cash and he offered to take me to the bank I said I did not have my car and offered to take me to get it which seemed fishy so I said yes knowing I was lying and made him drop me off a block away and decided that I didn't want to and he kept pushing that who wouldn't want thousands worth of clothes for so cheap and then dropped $800 to half of his car rental which. Was $450 I declined and walked away

Two days ago in Sault Ste Marie , Ontario
Same dude (heavy Italian Accent) who stunk of cologne...needed directions to the airport...said he liked me and wanted to give me a leather jacket and that he lost 15,000.00 at the casino.
He showed me 4 leather (polyurathane) jackets said he needed money to get to Toronto...wanted as much as I could give him and I would get all the jackets he designed in Milan Italy for Ferrari.
I don't know why I didn't just smell the leather....I know what leather smells like...but the cologne he was wearing was overbearing anyhow.
I gave him 30.00 CDN and he gave me a small PU Leather jacket (told him I was size large.
I will donate the useless jacket to Goodwill.
Lesson learned.

Nearly a year later, the very same Italian guy who tried to scam me in a gas station parking lot in north Toronto is back. He tried the same thing....at the same gas station yesterday afternoon! I called him out...by the name he gave me along with the handle "the scammer". His foot was already on the gas pedal and I'm told him to move along. Last year it was a white (rented) Jeep Cherokee with Ontario plates. Yesterday he was using a grey Jeep Cherokee with Quebec plates starting with F24...

Wish the police would get ahold of this guy.

Same guy handed me an "Emporio Armani" Business card here in the North End of Toronto CANADA, though I was suspicious right from the start as its a crappy standard card stock and its printed in black and white laser. I've seen the real deal and they're on linen stock material with "raised" ink, and done in multiple inks. Plus the guy's email on a company card is a yahoo address, not something an executive with one of the highest grossing design firms on the planet would choose to do on their business card for sure.

Sensing this was a total scam right from the get go, when he offered me the "free sample clothes he had received at his latest showing that he simply would not be able to take back with him on the flight" I looked him in the eye and said that I don't wear samples, I only buy designer originals... and left him sitting in his SUV wondering how that happened as I walked away.

I then came home, popped a VPN and a DNS masker on my PC and toured the Italian websites trying to determine if this guy was legit and I had just blown a shot at a bunch of good clothing or if I was right and just a scammer. Low and behold, LOTS of stuff on the net about this fool and his scam.

So there you have it, at 6:00 PM, Eastern Standard time on Wednesday July 8, 2015 this guy was in a black SUV on Yonge Street in the north end of Toronto, Ontario CANADA. Hope that helps any law enforcement tracking this guy to figure out where he's off to next.

He then says I've been so helpful and wants to give me some free stuff from his Georgio Armani photo shoot he just did, and I said "Sure". We chat for about 5 minutes and as I put the bag of jackets in the car, he asks for another favor.

$300 bucks in cash to help recoup money he lost partying with girls the night before. I told him sorry, take your stuff back and to try and sell them at the airport.

I knew off the bat they werent Armani. They must make a good fortune ripping people off. Isn't this illegal?

Sunnyside Queens New York
Only one guy with an accent asks for directions to JFK Airport. I take my time to give correct directions since he's unfamiliar. He appears greatful, asks if I speak Italian and strikes up friendly conversation.

Tells me he is a general manager for Georgio Armani and he just completed a fashion trade show at Jacob Javits Convention Center. Of course he continues about his travels, his wife etc. He asks my size and offers me a gift. Gets out of the SUV and shows me 3 different jackets in their packaging (Emporio Armani)). Tells me what the costs are; $800, $1100 etc, and continues.

Continuously makes a point about the customs fee which he does not want to pay because the clothing was sent their, not with him, and therefore, owes tax if he takes it back.

Insists on just anything I can offer so he can get a gift at the airport, which eventually turned into paying for the rental. He wanted $300. At some point asks how much I have, which there was no way of that happeneing and as much of a nice, friendly talkative guy I am, had already made up my mind this was a scam long ago.
He hands me the bag of clothing because he would always say he's giving me them either way. I asked him to take it back serveral times everytime he mentioned wanting money.

Shows mw passport, foreign currency, which isnt enough if exchanged. Wants US cash.

HAS A LOT OF TATTOO WORK FROM HIS WRISTS TO FOREARMS AND UP. SOME ON HAND.

Is very friendly however. DO NOT GIVE HIM ANYTHING INCLUDING PERSONAL INFORMATION REGARDING BACKGROUND, EMPLOYMENT ETC.

ATTACHED IS THE BUSINESS CARD. SO FAKE

Same scam as above, by Roberto , wanted directions to Pearson Airport. This was in Vaughan - Bathurst and Rutherford. He proceeded to offer me a gift and then wanted me to buy one jacket and would give me the other 3 for free as a gift. I refused said I had no money. He then brings in a story about buying an iPad for his son instead. Again I refused. Do not fall for it. Thankfully I didn't fall for his scam. He did keep asking how much I can pay, etc.
