A Reston man has been charged with unlawful filming after allegedly videotaping up a woman's skirt at Dulles Airport.

Airports Authority police began an investigation of 26-year-old David Solomon in June after a couple that had just flown into Dulles International Airport complained that it appeared a man had been following them and taking pictures. Solomon allegedly stayed particularly close to the woman as he followed them on every escalator. Then the couple saw a telephoto lens sticking out of the man's messenger bag.

The man wore an employee nametag from the Borders bookstore at the airport, so police were able to identify him quickly. Police also learned that Solomon had been accused of similar transgressions in the past.

Solomon had been convicted on three counts of unlawful filming for videotaping female students while he was at the University of Virginia in 2006 and 2007.

Investigators got a search warrant for the Reston townhouse where Solomon lives with his parents and seized cameras, flash drives, a laptop computer and a home computer. They found 700 videos in which Solomon allegedly aimed his camera up women's skirts dating to his days at UVA, police said. They also found 80 images of child pornography that investigators believe Solomon downloaded on to the computers. They even found a guide explaining how to get the best up-skirt shots.

Thanks to his prior conviction, Solomon could face a tougher punishment in the future. After that case, UVA campus police lobbied the State Legislature for a tougher law, and now a third unlawful filming offense is a felony.

I actually used to know that kid, but it's been eight years since I last saw him, so I wonder what the hell happened to him in that time period. He was always sort of awkward, but in a nerdy way.

The whole "Living with parents" thing isn't odd, but what he did is extremely creepy, no doubt. It's a shame too, because his mom was always an extremely nice lady, and I wonder how she's taking the news.

I actually find this all very sad. Here we have an individual who went to UVA - yet, lived his life following the wrong road. He has a degree from UVA (I'm assuming he graduated - maybe not) and he's working at Borders. Then, we have people who are very eager to get an excellent education and for various reasons, can't get into UVA.

Finally, out of all the porn that's out there, the upskirt stuff has to be about the least enjoyable that there is. I guess it's all about the voyeuristic enjoyment that it must have brought him. In closing, the child porn really puts the final nail into it. Things won't be so good in prison for this guy. I wonder if he had a chance to turn in his notice to Borders?

That conviction killed any benefit from having earned a degree of UVA if indeed he had graduated. He would've been better off signing up for the military. The government investigates very few of its employees or contractors for lewd business like porn.

I went to school w/ this dude. I second the posters above in the nerdy/awkward dept. However, they shld def give him a break or something. I mean, shit, it's not like he's supporting Al Qaeda or brewing Meth. A lil upskirt never hurt anybody, except the hoes haha. I suggest public shaming for all these offenses. However, that's already been done w/ all the news coverage and what not.

Well if they really found child porn on his computer than the upskirt videos are the least of his problems.

I agree, they should definitely give him a break. He had what it takes to make something out of himself, the intelligence and drive to get into UVA. Clearly he is not just some maladjusted punk. Good people make mistakes sometimes. I'm sure the embarrassment that the media brought on himself and his family is punishment enough.

There is no need to ruin this UVA grads promising life.

Wow! If this is the same David I am thinking of he used to (or still does) live in the area of North Shore in Reston. I was wondering what happened to him. I went to school with him what seems like years ago now. Didn't really expect him to turn out to be this kinda person lol.

Looked him up online, apparently he is in "custody" and has an upcoming court date. I see 5 counts for "CHILD PORNOGRAPHY: POSSESS" (18.2-374.1:1)

Lon Solomon doesn't live in a townhouse in Reston and the rest of his family is in North Carolina. That would mean no, he isn't.

I went to high school with this guy. This guy is definitely not a 'down on his luck' pervert that got caught. This guy was a surgical panty searching professional. And persistent too always with his camera. He got caught in high school too a few times but that never made the major media. I mean 700 videos!! Truely, in his lifetime its probably double that. Dont feel bad for him. What do upskirts sell for in the internet porn market these days??? Can anyone tell me? I'm going to gesture a guess and say conservatively anywhere from 100 to 1000 dollars depending on the quality. So after doing the math thats 70000 to 700000 non taxed dollars in his bank account.
