For years cox cable's internet has been rock sold. Then in the last few days, every single night about 10-11pm, the "Cable" light on my modem starts blinking. I have to unplug/replug the modem to get the connection back. WTF? Also, the other night, FFUG was completely unavailable (probably unrelated...I know). Are they *trying* to force me to FIOS?

if you haven't upgraded to HD, it's time to do so.

take box back to Cox and exchange it.

or, call their guy in India for technical advice.

yah dont get fios. they send me so much junk mail telling me to get it, and then they sent these dumbass ppl to my door to tell me how it was better than cable.

The guy goes "you should get fios, you get speeds up to 768 kbps" im like thats DSL you retard. "Oh yeah, 1 sec" (checks paper) "Oh it says here up to 3 mbps" I get much high than that with my cable. "No you dont." Yes i do i jsut ran a speed test the other day. I pay for the 2nd highest speed (theres three speeds- 5, 15, and 30 mbps i think- i usually get between 5 and 10 mbps) "well your wrong" I slam door.

We've been having the same problems around here lately. Not sure wtf is going on, but its irritating because we get kicked off, and the shit stays off for quite a while, then lets us on, then kicks us off again.

We've had their service for years, nothing has changed in our house, so I dont know why its being so unsettled.

I have fios and have no problems with it, i get 30mbps down and 5mbps up. its been rock solid reliable since i got it.

I second that. I gave up on Cox years ago and went to DirecTV. Much better. Switched
over to FIOS last April to save a few bucks and havent had one hiccup with it.
FIOS customer service is located in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and when you
call you get an American who speaks English. (even the same Hillbilly dialect
that I speak)

My Cocks has been acting up too lately. I would do fios in a heartbeat but of course service is not available here and I figured cable would be better than verizon dsl.

I tried to get DSL, but in my area Verizon will only do FIOS.

I don't need all that bandwidth, and DSL would suit me fine, BUT NOooooooo!!! You can't have it.

And they constantly call and knock on my door trying to sell my FIOS. I complained to Verizon, and of course, that did no good.

Please bring back C&P Telephone...

cant get DSL if you live more than 17,000 feet (3.25 miles) from the central switching office. Those are the big-ass usually brick buildings the say Verizon on them and dont really have any visible doors and look old. The three that come to the top of my mind are at the corner of Union Mill and rt 29, in the middle of FFX city across from Hooters and theres one on Braddock rd past mason by the retarded ppl school and the graveyard. If you dont live in those general areas you cant get it.
