Sully Police District - A 32-year-old Haymarket man was arrested and charged with four counts of indecent liberties with a child by a person in a supervisory position stemming from incidents that allegedly took place in 2007 and 2008. Police charged Brian White of 15216 Rosemont Manor Drive on Thursday, December 9. He is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

White was a teacher at Centreville High School. The victim had been a student there but has since graduated. She came forward to police in the summer of 2010 and detectives have been investigating since that time.

Tell that to Sean Lanigan. Sorry, but the false reports have finally turned things around in these cases to innocent until proven guilty instead of presumption of guilt. What authorities haven't gotten around to is keeping identity of accused as secret as the accuser until a guilty verdict is reached, and conversely releasing the name of the accuser after an acquittal if the name of the accused is in the press.

First of all, he was the adult in the situation. Regardless of what kind of a teacher he was - he could have been teacher of the year for all it matters - bottom line, he crossed the line and broke the law. People who break the law should face justice, period. Most sex offenders appear normal to the public, but deep down they are very sick and twisted. Brian White is a predator who has been preying on students for years. He is a threat to society and a liability to Centreville High School. Out of all people in society, teachers are entrusted with protecting kids, not hitting on them. The individual who came forward should be commended for helping to get him out of the school. This blog is intended to voice out people's opinions but there is no need for slander or threat. But here is my opinion. I am not taking anyone's sides but just laying out the main facts.
There is no point to “wait and see†the information from both sides because in the end what Mr. White did was ILLEGALLY and morally wrong. His position as a proper educator was tainted when he let his desires or whatever to control his morality. To be a good teacher means that one must be a model of faith and piety and should have fairly good knowledge. Educators are entrusted by students and thus should avoid any breach of that trust. They have the duty to educate and train students. If he was such a great teacher, all he should have done was to TEACH.
HONESTLY he should've known....i mean there is a reason why it is illegal for adults to have sexual relations with minors because the truth is that we haven't reached a state of maturity or competency to understand the proper relationships between an adult and child.It is the role of an educator and any other ADULT individual to understand that that is a clear and definite line that exists and if violated they should suffer the same consequences as any other person. Also, the statement that “16 is the age for consent in VA under normal circumstances†does not apply to a 30+ year old man.
I went to centreville high school with the girl some of you are slandering. But what many of you bloggers dont consider is that fact that when we're in high school we aren't at our highest level of intelligence and our judge of character is slightly distorted. We all live in a fantasy world believing that everyone has only good intentions. But eventually some of us will regret the things we did and understand things in a whole new perspective.
I never had Mr.White as a teacher but I heard he was “a cool teacher†and really tried relating to students. But that social aspect should only stay in school in a proper manner. He did not just do it to one girl but he definitely had indecent relations with many other students in the school.In context, as a trusted professional and member of society, Mr. White had the duty to control himself. Yes, girls do dress provocative, I can even say some girls were I guess “sluts†but does that mean it's right to have sexual relations with them. Girls do dress provocative and maybe to gain attention at times but that does not mean one should have the right to act. This does not just apply to young girls but also if a young male student was taken advantage by a female administrator.
I am not trying to take anyone's side but everyone has to understand that in the end he was at fault. I mean he took advantage of many young girls. Who cares if it was even a love affair or if she knew what she getting herself into, or if she was ALMOST 18 when they dated because the point is that she was NOT of legal age and therefore did not understand the extent to which the position she was being placed in. The girl chose to come forward now because as a grown adult and of LEGAL age she understands that what he did and “WAS CONTINUALLY DOING†was morally wrong. People have the right to desire or fantasize about things that are wrong but as human beings we have the capability to control ourselves.
Also, its not hard to spell “ANONYMOUS†or “RIDICULOUS†wrong.

Just because the supposed "victim" may not have been mature doesn't mean she didn't know right from wrong. No one made good decisions in this situation but that doesn't mean this teacher's life should be ruined.
If it were my daughter who decided persuing a teacher was a good idea, she'd be slapped upside the head. Hahaha this is OLD NEWS. I am a previous student of White from about 2002-2005. I know what he is capable of. You kids still in highschool really have no idea and I don't expect you to "get it". I know he was an awesome teacher, so friendly, fun, so 'cool' and relatable. But these are all also reasons why he was able to weasle his way into the lives of NUMEROUS young girls. I know many of the students who he had relations with and they were normal teenage girls susceptible to his games. He was looked up to by many and abused his power. He deserves every bit of these charges, especially because he is still doing this and he is now 32! He keeps getting older, but his prey always stays the same age. He was once married, and I believe left his wife for this student who turned him in. The girl who I also know, probably realized that he was a perverse old man who is still lying cheating and scamming young women into having sex with him. Sick Sick fuck, probably ruined the lives of many young adults. 100% his fault, no questions asked.

Well see that's why his plan was so genius. The old girls he sleeps with and their classmates who know about him graduate and move on with their lives, and every generation of girls probably think they are his "first", and that he doesn't have relationships like these with just anyone. Yeah so there was a crack-down at the school today that lead to the arrest. White had dated the other student/former student for a long time. It was common knowledge for years. Her parents knew about it and were okay with it, which should tell you something about the girl and her family situation. (Her family recently moved from the area.) At the crackdown it was uncovered that he was dating at least one student currently so thats why he was arrested. I kind of know him and he seems like a nice guy but I guess they always do. Im glad Centerville is rid of him. I always wondered why nothing was done when everyone knew about the 2009 graduate.

High school teachers need to be morally responsible. This is the time in life when young people are vulnerable to all kinds of stuff. The community should be outraged by this. We put up with way too much in America. Other countries are ahead of us because they control this kind of crap from the get go. Here we are so afraid of getting into other people's business or denying them their freedom or whatever to the point that we pay for huge mistakes like this.

that is NOT the girl. that girl lives in a complete other state in the midwest now. it's not her, the girl was not in that photo.

I'm currently 16 years old and believe me, I know what's right and wrong. Just because you're considered a minor doesn't mean you're an IDIOT. that girl put this completely upon her self and she only turned him in knowing people would be against him just because of the age difference and the fact of their teacher-student affair. Why would she wait THREE years to say something. Obviously something in their relationship went wrong because otherwise she would've said something before or at least not have been involved in the relationship. She needs to take resposibility for what she did as well as the teacher does too. A smart teacher wouldn't come onto a student because that's just too risky. I currently have Mr. White as a teacher and believe me, he wouldn't have done that. She had to have hinted interest to start the spark. I also have a friend that graduted with her class and they said that she was always in his classroom. I'm sure as hell he didn't drag her in there. of course at some point in our lives, we were 16 year old. It is also true that being a minor doesnt necessarily mean that you're an idiot. being so young we do possess the right to point the difference between what is right and what is wrong....

but its obvious your view of Mr.White is bias...in that fact that you did not know Mr.White otherthan as that "cool" teacher you saw in the classroom..It is true, he was a great teacher, personable, and taught students in a way that made learning more interesting. But i mean he made not just one mistake, which you NEED and everyone else to understand. He continually pursued girls...minors.

Who knows what really happened between the girl and Mr.White. But who cares. Yes the girl probably knew what she was doing but Mr. White should've prevented the situation from even starting. He is the TEACHER, the authority figure who should've known that something like this would end bad.

if you read clearly, you see that the cheerleading picture was not meant to the show the girl in question....the girl to the top row 2nd to the left was directed towards the statement "it was uncovered that he was dating at least one student currently...Jackie Kindig is not a current student at CVHS. learn to read
