I just came back from my deployment. Was looking to put the money in the best savings account that accumulates interest monthly. Whats the best place to go and whats the monthly interest %??? I am not looking to invest, just the best saving account rate. Thanks to all

Also check out HSBC, http://www.hsbcdirect.com/1/2/1/offer?code=husa.

I think that ING offer similar rates (around 5%) for an online savings account. No minimum balance, but you need to be on top of their account management policies. If you forget your password it can take a long conversation with a CSR in India and up to a week to receive new credentials in the mail.

You may find something similar with ING and it is hard to really know how this works until you actually have an account. The security is for your safety, but it can be tedious.

If you are trying to earn interest then why are you messing with low interest savings?
