Mclean Bible Church

Has anyone been there? That place is huge. If you search on Youtube, some videos come up and they're all rock concerts. ??? And they don't follow any denomination. I'm curious as to what it's like, I've never been to a church like that. I hear they're really big in the area, that a bunch of Congressmen and people go there.

My wife tried it a couple of times. She says it is like going to a shopping mall. Very impersonal. She didn't like it.

They don't follow any denomination? How does that work? Just wondering...

I think they are Christian without being Methodist, Lutheran, etc.

I have a friend who goes there. They believe in the bible and the word of Jesus, not all of the ancillary doctrine and dogma like denominations do. At least that's his opinion of it.

You can hear their pastor (Lon Solomon) on WJFK on Sunday mornings.

If "Bible" is in the name doesn't that require it to EXCLUDE some denominations?

I certainly can understand excluding Catholics, but what is wrong with seeing an all American lesbian at church?

They don't exclude Catholics. My freind who attends McLean Bible Church was raised Catholic and attended Catholic church regularly as an adult. I'm not exactly sure just what in the hell is going on over there.

That place sure is huge though. It creates a gigantic traffic mess on 7 when it lets out.

I guess any denomination which doesn't live and die by the bible...Buddhism and Hinduism come to mind. Not necessarily pushed out, but why would Buddhists come to a "Bible" church. But I've never been there so maybe they do.
