can I take crooked license plate to DMV office in Tysons for exchange/refund?

I'm new to Fairfax County...(and Virginia)

The state's DMV website is really cool. I ordered my personalized license plates. They came in the mail this morning.

The letter were all crooked, like the license plate was made at a 15-degree
angle.

If I take these plates to the DMV Tysons office, will they give me a refund
and order another set for me? I'll also need some other plates to put on,
since my paper temp tags will expire in 5 days.

Or should I just hang the crooked tags on my car for now? Will the local
cops pull me over, thinking that my tags are fake?

Thanks!

LOL! I'm sure if you take the plates to your nearest DMV they'll understand and order new ones for you.

BUT before you do that please take a picture and post it here for us all to laugh at. thanks :)

They will probably issue yo a general (metal) tag for 30 days or so, untill the new ones are made. Or maybe one of the blue paper tags (multi-purpose tags, 60 day tags)

I have driven with a piece of cardboard for a tag before - I wrote the tag number, with "TAG STOLEN" underneath the letters.

I had no issues in doing so. Your results may vary.
