Need some good advice.

I have a friend who got a reckless speeding ticket (83/65). The judge says he will dismiss the charge only if he completes a driving improvement course by DEC. My friend was not able to go to court but had his lawyer represent him because he had to leave the country (he went to china for a scholarship for 1 year). Almost all the online driving course that we looked at says he would have to take the test at a testing center. Is it possible to speak to someone in the court system to extend the deadline for the driving course since it is impossible for him to come back to the states because of school? Please help. Thanks!!

I would like to add that my friend has never been pulled over before this incident, he has been driving for almost 5 years now and had a perfect record..

If he has a lawyer, this would be a fine question for him.

Your friend is clearly more intelligent than you are. He got a lawyer instead of asking for advice on a public message board.

It's not your problem. His lawyer will handle it for him.

Exactly, the atty can get the "continuation" for a later date. "your friend" trying to get it continued would take lots of red tape cutting and effort. Welcome to our judicial system
