Where's a good cheap place to get windows tinted? What's the laws and stuff concerning this?
I have a suburu wagon, and there's a ton of glass on it. Combine that with black interior, and my car is like a greenhouse oven during the summer.
Are we allowed to tint the side windows, rear window, and front windsheild? I see so many suv's and minivans with pitch black windows on the road. How come they get away with it? Is tinting just a law on the books, that cops don't really bother to enforce?
What?
Re: how do I get a window tint medical waiver around here?
Why do you need to tint vehicle windows when the corrective lens and proper clothing will resolve the problem?
I can live with a partial tint at the top of front windshield to block the sun glare, but overall tinting is not necessary and impedes other drivers' vision. In many instances, if you can't see through the windows (i.e. pulling out of a parking space) drivers are at risk because they cannot see if there is oncoming traffic.

So I'm suppose to wear white every day or something? It doesn't make it hard to see unless you tint your front windshield, which I have seen done, but it's stupid.
Legal limit for VA is 50% front, 35% rear, which is basically nothing. Cops do love pulling people over for it too, and it's an $87 ticket each time.
I don't drink that make, but if you do, it'll put you at higher risk of getting a DUI. If you're not driving improperly, cops won't pull you over. If they pull you over for window tint and she you shitfaced, the cop has hit the jackpot.

Fill in your name below and printout:
We, the posters of Fairfaxunderground, hereby grant the right of holder, [insert your name], to drive with tinted windows.
Place it in your purse or wallet. When you get pulled over just hand it to the officer.

I want to quit my job and get hired by the FCPD.
I want to be the officer that pulls you over and who receives the authorization from Fairfax Underground for you to have your windows tinted.
At that time, I want to pull a printout of my wallet and hand it to you.
When you open it up, you will see it is a picture of the o rly owl.

What's the point of the waiver if the minimum is 35% but with the waiver you can get ... 35%? I don't think that's right.

Actually, it is 35% rear windows and 50% for the front roll-downs. Having a waiver allows 35% all around.

For cars with a waiver and you do have to have mirrors on both front doors. And yes you can go 35% all around (not windshield) with a waiver.
With a waiver for multi-purpose vehicles you can have the windows behind the front doors as dark as you want. I have 5% on the side windows behind the front doors of my SUV and 20% on the rear window. 35% on the front doors. I used CA Tint for this vehicle and LA Tint for my other vehicle. On both vehicles I have clear 99.9% UV blocking film on the windshield of each vehicle. It's 100% clear but keeps my fair skinned wife from getting severely sunburned as she used to. She's been sunburned so badly before that she had blisters. The tint also keeps prying eyes from seeing things in my vehicle that they might want to steal and the tint keeps the interior cooler in the summer months. The rear window being darker is also nice for the A-holes that like to drive around with there hi-beams on at night on or who use those aftermarket extremely bright headlights.
I've had vehicles of mine tinted like this since 1997 and have been pulled over for tint just once a few years ago, no ticket was issued and the PWC officer didn't even know a waiver existed, he was cordial and very professional. It was a learning experience for him.

I had a VA Trooper tell me on a waiver, I was the ONLY person who could drive the vehicle (BS) and if my wife was caught driving the vehicle, she would get a summons (BS)
It say's right on my registrations, SUNSHADING (indicating the waiver)

50% front
35% rear
is the legal limit in VA.
Mine? 35% all around.
Tickets? 3
Ticket Fines? $56, $120, $56
Pigs? 2 State, 1 County
Worth it? Hell yes.
Price for tint? $150-300 (Ceramic Tint more expensive but will let cell phone reception get through your tint in case you have a shitty phone/carrier)
Benefits:
1. Privacy
2. Cleaner looking car
3. Thiefs can't see in very well.
4. Less sunlight to get your car fucking hot.
5. Road trip BJ's are fun.
6. Hot box.
7. Giggity Giggity Giggity.

That is straight BS. The owner of a car that you don't even own can get the waiver for you if that person drives you a lot. A commuter van for instance could.

Re: how do I get a window tint medical waiver around here?
Getting a medical waiver for window tinting often involves consulting a medical professional as well as law enforcement to gain specific steps to attaining it in your state. A good further resource may be http://detailwiz.com/window-tinting-laws/

I own a legit antique car (with the black tags) so I don't have to have inspection- should I get it limo tinted?
I only ask because it has been broken into 2x because they can see in and see my non-stock stereo (no tint on it now) and its kinda valuable and I can't afford to garage park it right now. Nor do I want to take my stereo out just because others can't respect my property. It's only a $150 stereo but its the principle...
I will gladly just pay the tickets if darker tint will help me keep the car safer. I have nothing to hide while driving, just want to keep it safe.
I am already used to being pulled over b/c my car is kinda unique, so that makes me no difference being pulled over more.

it's not true such a thing could be waivered
unless the vehicle already had a disabled tag and registered for tint, if the cops even know how to add such a registry ($$$)
otherwise cops have to pull over every time they see the car, to check, which is illegal for doctors to order
it is illegal for doctors to order cops to pull over unmarked cars for continual compliance checking
simply put: doctors are not allowed

That Civic had two sheets of limo tint on that back windows and one sheet on the fronts. The AC blew super cool and stayed that way. Was a little difficult driving it at night around Braddock and Pleasant Valley

Dermatologist or Eye Doctors are more likely to give sign off on a Medical Tint Waiver.
You might even see if a local Eye Glasses store with the Optometrist might sign off. Not sure if a Optometrist actually qualifies as they are technically not Medical Doctors.

recently saw bmw driving around with tint a copy would pull her over for
while it might be higher visibility inside - the cop doesn't know that and it's therefore illegal (pull-overs are infact a dangerous situation - traffic wise and otherwise)
