Huge police presence on Government Center 8/17/10

Does anyone know why there was such a huge police presence on Government Center this morning around 11:00 am? They were concentrated by the pool of the apartment complex across the street from Carriage Park. There was a helicopter and several marked and unmarked vehicles including an unmarked van with a guy grinning from ear to ear. He was parked down the street away from the rest. A woman walking to Wegmans said that she witnessed the arrest of a man with his dog in the woods by police with their guns drawn.

It was fucked up I was at the Wegman's. He came in with the dog, and while everyone was looking at the dog in the bread section he grabbed a bag of Hostess Powdered Donettes. He and the dog nodded to each other and they took off running. By the time everyone knew what was going on he was in the woods, thank God the police got him with the response.

He's my cousin. Sticker-checkers got him in a massive sticker-checking operation today (his inspection expired on July 31). Cops spent about $10,000 of tax money to locate him after he fled. He told me he ran because those trigger happy goons have no problem shooting unarmed people.

He received a citation, and will have to go to court next month. Ticket will be dismissed since he went and got his car inspected at lunch today. He still had enough time to go to McDs and get a #3 value meal.
