Un-friggin believable. All students get an iBook. When they get old and used, they sell them for $50 a pop. Not enough money to make the right-hand northbound lane of 7100 over Rt29 driveable, but there's leftover money to buy iBooks for thousands of students IN RICHMOND.

I agree pgens, and I think this sale should be Virginia residents only, outsiders should have to pay more. We paid for the goddamned things after all.

I am gonna go get at least one, anyone want to go with???!

It is supposedly limit one per person, and I heard people are planning on camping out starting Friday. What some people will do for an iBook... anyway, showing up there at 3am or something may not be good enough.

Oh cry about it. FFX county spends so much unnecessary funds on its education system, roads, and police force (which is one of the most overinflated Ive ever seen, the pointless roadblocks to check tags and registrations in Reston and other areas and other tasks from overemployment of patrol/traffic officers are just plain idiotic) People need to cry a little bit less about funds going to a district which needs them MUCH more.

Cry cry cry, try living in sacramento, they build stuff then tear and down to rebuild, talk about a waste of money. we too have over employed police force. 5 cops per traffic stop.

Yeah but if we need to waste money why can't I have an iBook? And no, they don't need more funding, just spending what they have differently. If you have seen the hugely underutilized highway infrastructure they have built outside of Richmond you'll know what I mean. I have been to other parts of the state where high schools that weren't in great shape but still in very useable state were torn down to build new ones, all on the backs of the NoVA taxpayer.

Funny thing is, they're repaving that stretch of road right this minute. Should be done by morning.

I'm glad someone in VDOT is reading my posts on that issue and are finally fixing it. But I still want a free iBook.

First google result for 500mhz G3: $425

If selling $425,000 worth of government assest for $50,000 isn't a crime than I don't know what is.

Then add in the cost of using RIR as well as wages for the staff and security. Do you think they actually made any money off the day? I'm sure there will be a lawsuit as well.

Right... if they needed even more money than what Fairfax County provides they should have either sold them for $200 to cut down the deman or hired some guy to get rid of them all on eBay to get even more money.

Are you guys serious? Who cares if the kids in Henrico get access to technology or hell the public. Billionaires have been buying shit off the government for pennies on the dollar for years. Raise your right hand, now look in the mirror because that is who cares.

"Who cares if the kids in Henrico get access to technology..."

Well, it looks like no one for over 7 years until you brought it up again.
