Is Chantilly in Fairfax, Loudoun or both counties?

From what I see, it appears SOuth RIding isn't an actual town but part of Chantilly. Yet, Chantilly appears to be in Fairfax County. Does Chantilly and/or South Riding have a geographic anamoly/identity crisis of some sort?

South Riding isn't actually a part of the United States. This scenerio has played out before and is generally short lived - about 20 minutes or so.

I used to live in Chantilly in Fairfax (20151) and now I live in Chantilly in Loudoun (20152). When charities send me address labels that say South Riding I throw them in the trash. I keep the ones that say Chantilly, then throw the accompanying letter asking for money in the trash.

Dulles Airport is officially in Chantilly too.

Both. It's an unincorporated, unofficial area. Like there's a Falls Church and Alexandria city and a Falls Church and Alexandria in Fairfax County.

As a South Riding resident, I get mail addressed to South Riding, Chantilly, and Aldie. Isn't it like Tysons, you can address the mail to Vienna, and it's all good?
