Good law.

I ran a stop sign in college because somebody had parked a jacked up 4x4 in front of the stop sign. I almost clobber a mini-van with kids in it. I didn't see the mini-van either because my view was blocked. Luckily I slammed on the brakes and avoided and accident. (I credit that to years of f'ing around in high school doing donuts and stunt driving LOL)

Sacred the hell out of me. I saw my life flash before my eyes and three kids wide eyed looking out the window of the mini-van at the hood of my car. It's a good law.

FYI - It is also illegal to park your facing the wrong the on a street.

That's Fairfax County code; OP, if you're not in Fairfax you need to check your own jurisdiction. I couldn't find anything in VA state code prohibiting parking near a stop sign.
