Question for the old-timers here;
When did the last residential outhouses disappear from Fairfax County?

There was an old neighborhood off of Popes Head Rd. All of the homes had outhouses
The neighborhood was bulldozed and redeveloped in the mid
1990's. They say the grass grows really well in certain spots in the new development.

My lot backs up to woods and I have a workshop at the rear of the lot. It has electricity, heat, and a/c but no plumbing. A few years ago I got tired of walking all the way back to my house just to take a leak. There was also the issue of bringing dirt/grease/grime from my hands and shoes into the house and onto floors and doors.

So I built an outhouse behind the shed. It is mostly used just for peeing, and only an emergency dump-zone.
