Although Gold's Gym Fairfax is CLOSED due to Covid19 they are still charging their customers thousands of dollars in subscription fees and making it IMPOSSIBLE to cancel. Anybody with similar experiences?

I didn't meet a situation like this before, but it's very strange. How can they drain money from people? Did you try to contact a lawyer in this case? This is not legal, I am pretty sure. To take money but not being able to offer the service in return. I would advise you to leave that gym as soon as possible and never go there again. Find a new gym with a normal stuff. It is high time for all of us to switch to home workouts! There is a very narrow list of simulators that are difficult to find a replacement for. And free weights are generally a super solution.

I had a difficult conversation with the administrator of the gym I go to, but I canceled the subscription, paid some minor forfeit and wasted a lot of nerves. But I doubt that in the near future I myself will want to go there when everything is open. I made my own mini gym, I mainly do weights with lifting straps from lessons on YouTube. I agree with JetiX that it really can be done at home and the equipment is not as expensive as my health.
