Polygamy ensures that males who are most fit for survival contribute the most to the gene pool. This positive generic selection can be counteracted by incest and decreases paternal contact/influence but in general polygamy was very good for human evolution, promoting desirable traits while strict capital punishment erased some of the worst from our genome. Sadly these positive eugenic practices that come naturally to most humans are being slandered and abolished by a power hungry elite with powerful brainwashing tools
