What’s up with the yellow “student driver” stickers these days?

It seems like there’s a LOT more of these on cars these days. And they’re usually on the road at peak rush hour, not school times. And they’re driven by 30+ yr olds.

Is there something going on that has so many of
These popping up? It’s like people are ordering them and putting them on their car by choice but what’s the reason?

I thought it was a new law. I've seen a lot also. Maybe the insurance companies give a discount or require it?

In my day, I'd be embarrassed as a new driver to have this on my car.

If you see a student driver sticker, make sure you leave about 4 or 5 inches of distance between you and their car as a measure of safety.

and blow your horn and flash your lights a lot as sign of encouragement for their safe driving skills

My daughter recently received her license and we did not put a sticker on her vehicle. It is not a law to have the sticker affixed to your vehicle. My auto insurance company did not mention anything about reduced rates for having the sticker.

As far as 30 year olds having it on their vehicle, it is possible they are adults, possibly from foreign countries, who are getting their first drivers license as an adult. There are plenty of driving schools who market themselves to adults.

And I agree with the previous poster that it would be an additional distraction for a new driver to have that sticker on their vehicle. Teens are self conscious as it is, they don't need anything else to add to their stress. I don't envy anyone learning to drive in the Northern Virginia area.

I would think most are adults in this area given the influx of shithole country dwellers flocking here. You should be VERY patient with them. It's incredibly difficult to learn to drive a car when you've been getting around on a donkey your entire life.

They just don't take them on and off depending on who is driving the car. Pain in the ass to keep track of that. I drove with the sticker on. No one pays any attention to them anyway.

"No one pays any attention to them anyway." Kinda like "Baby on Board". Really? Then why are you cutting through traffic like a maniac on I66. You want me to give a shit about your baby but you certainly don't.
