Long time church goers rejected the liberal takeover of the original Falls Church (attended by George Washington) in it's namesake city.

Outsiders and political manipulators tried to turn the congregation into a Unitarian social justice project, they even forced a gay bishop onto parishioners.

Correction. There was no liberal takeover of the Falls Church. There was instead an attempted conservative theft of the church building. As the lawsuit made clear the church belongs to the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. The congregation was allowed to use the building so long as they were part of the Diocese. Once they chose to leave they were supposed to give it back.
