Has anyone here sent a "non-urgent" medical question to the doctor on MyChart? How long does it take to get a reply usually? It's been about 4 days and I haven't heard back.. I hope he doesn't wait like weeks or something.

Just ask your question here, FFXU has lots of doctors including myself who can help you out.

It will probably take 4 to 6 weeks for you to get a response. You can thank Obamacare for that!

asked a question on My Chart. I did let a shart once. I was pissed b/c I wasn't home, so I had to run in the bathroom and wash out my underwear. I wringed it out, but it was still damp. I didn't like that.

It says 2 days response time on mine. I'm guessing he's not going to respond. You'd get better information juat researching for yourself anyways. They dont exactly work for you these days anyhow, unless you're one of the special people. I used to send my doctor about 20 questions a month because he was cute. If you go to sent messages you can see if it was opened. Mine opened his every 2 hours, sometimes less. I think they enjoy the fanmail, send more.

I don't see anywhere that shows if he read it or not.

It was kind of a complicated question about a sort of awkward topic.

I was hoping worst case, he would ask me to make an appointment to discuss it in person, not ignore me..

Go to sent messages, messages in bold mean unread, once they read it the font is normal. Says so on the top. He won't respond to a complicated, awkward question. He won't make an earlier appointment.
If we are both talking about the same place & I think we are, don't expect too much. They want dogs but don't want to take care if them. You can bark all month long and he doesn't care unless urs an emergency. You don't want an emergency so, don't create one to finally get attention.

Ok, I see what you mean. Yea he must have read it.

Damn, I was hoping he would at least reply with "make an appointment" or something.

It imagine that it depends on the doctor, patient and the patient/doctor relationship. I usually get a response in 1 - 2 days. (Can somebody can do the set representation of patient(dick) intersect doctor(dick) = no response (and combinations there of)?)

Usually no more than two days, sometimes next day or same day. We contact 4 docs using MyChart and only one does not use it so we call his nurse to read the message.

Is it just me or is there something wrong with a person with no criminal record having to be auditted by the IRS of mental health? People actually get nervous breakdowns being auditted by the IRS. You can come in already having one and get subjected to a very harsh and cold audit. There is always something complicated your long appointments, several times a month. There, you get a half hour once a month and little else. With true illness pretty much weeded out of this area, the chance of picking scapegoats is high. Doctors flirt with the patients for better conquer and control. That doesn't exactly help your situation either. The emotional problems that causes is just further proof that you're crazy.

Ok, he just replied today. He said my question is basically outside of his area of expertise and that I should see a doctor who specializes in that type of medicine.
