Mike O'Brien Needs to Go

This should be the best McLean basketball team since the team that won the district and was a regional semifinalist in 2012.
Last three freshmen squads have gone 10-6, 15-1 and 13-3. Plenty of coachable kids who would win under a Scott Newman, Kevin Roller, Dan Hale, or Mark Gray-Mendes.
Instead, varsity keeps losing under Mike O'Brien, who lacks the tools to coach at the varsity level. Yells at individual kids, and doesn't teach how to pass crisply or handle a press. Takes kids who've starred on Nova Cavaliers and makes them look like house league players. One of the better juniors transferred to Langley to avoid having to deal with O'Brien's incompetence again.
Also incredibly bad judgment on picking squads. He put several seniors on this year's team who are bench warmers and overlooked younger players. Of the freshmen squad that went 15-1 two years ago, only two are on varsity this year.
If Greg Miller, the AD, was anything other than a lazy hack, he'd have hired a new coach last year. O'Brien's departure is inevitable after the 2018-19 team has a losing season but Miller is too lazy to pull the plug. I guess if the SAT scores are good Miller and Reilly can just coach on them.
