Years ago, Fairfax County was considered,warranted,by the way, one of the best school systems in the United States. I've been an fcps teacher for just over 30 years,and I can attest to it's decline, especially within the last 10 years.

There is substantial enthusiasm for this kind of reform agenda. Those willing to fight for it prefer to do so in individual schools and classrooms. At least that has been my experience. If people are not willing to run for office on the agenda, progress will be limited.

My take on it.
Im a gay male and I think all references to the south and what they did to people like me should be taken down. All the statues and school names and anything to do with racism or homophobia. Also any reference to slavery and exploting of women should come down. Its evil VERY evil, all this republican evilness needs to be removed forever so where do I sign?!

To amend my post:

A few things I feel are paramount to the future success of Fairfax County Schools are the following:

All parents must "volunteer" at their child's school. If babies or toddlers make this difficult, the parent(s) must agree to participate in a babysitting network, where parents watch each others babies while other parents volunteer. One idiot asked, what if a parent has 2 or 3 kids under 5, who's gonna watch them? To that I say, no citizen should have more than 2 kids total, and the 2 kids should be separated by at least 3 years.

Before volunteering, all parents must freely submit to a background check and finger printing, along with a personality test conducted by a Fairfax County School psychologist.

I feel these measures would greatly improve the quality of Fairfax County Schools.
