I was living here at the time. That was the Woodson April Fool's day tornado that took the top off the foreign language and English wings of the high school.

I started at Woodson the next fall.

Woodson school district was top notch for Asians, even back then!

From the right:
Peoples Drug. A local/regional chain that later got absorbed into CVS.
The ABC store, complete with school bus.
A Sears catalog store. These were more common in rural areas, somewhat odd for this area. Some display items but mainly a counter where you could order items from catalogs to pick up later.
A jewlry store and a bank branch - can't make out the signs.
Ben Franklin, last sign before the corner. A craft store. Later changed its name to Total Crafts, later moved to where Good Will is now, changed its name to Total Framing or something. Moved again.
That looks like an S&H Green Stamps store.
Off the frame to the left would be a hardware store and a Giant food store.

I assume someone has added the details but I scrolled past this post and can confirm a few things. This was MY bus, driven by Ms. Apgar for Fairfax Christian School. They parked their buses in the parking lot there as they didn't have enough space at the school at the time.

I hope the kids showed some initiative and got off the bus and looted the liquor store.
