Fairfax County says "recyclables free" but when you get there they say "we only recycle plastic bottles, glass containers, clean paper / cardboard".

So: where do county executives get off making a public service that has no competition a "for profit" service?

We believe the landfills no longer serve as the best destination for your trash. You should consider recycling or composting for everything you discard. Beyond that, many of our new residents from Guatemala have found a highly effective means of disposal. Dump the shit on the side of the road.

I live in a residential community where there is no HOA. I take my trash and other shit over to this one community where they use dumpsters for the residents to place their trash. I just unload my shit there.

It's not really worth DIU trash hauling anymore and even for large items. Even yard waste has quite a tag!!

The public dump in PG County is still free. And it's a beautiful facility.

They can charge that because government is a monopoly that does not tolerate competition.

#1 it's illegal to "run a business" using government money

#2 it's illegal to "run a business" without regulation where there are no competitors

#3 it's illegal to tax a person for government run waste disposal management and tell them they should travel to another area to dispose of trash

Yep, when they started charging me F150 prices for my Explorer Sport Trac I said fuck that. My twice weekly trash pick up is now full of all the shit that may have been recycled or mulched at the West Ox Transfer Station.
