Dear canna folks I've seen legal cannabis work extremely well in Oregon ,,, please hurry up Virginia and legalize marijuana sales so we can be in alignment with the many other legal cannabis states

Except for a very small portion of the population pot is not good for us. The main reason to legalize it is that like alcohol the damage caused by fighting it far exceeds the damage caused by its use. The number of lives damaged fighting pot use is far greater than the number of lives damaged from pot use. The war on drugs has caused more sustained damage to our liberties than anything except the war on terror. It is time to admit defeat. Legalize pot, tax it and save prosecutions for those who fuck up on pot.

The MMJ tax is a myth.
Doesn’t go to schools like promised and it fills gaps in Road funding.

Social services go up-food stamps/homeless shelters/rehab programs

Prices of good pot actually are higher in the dispensaries!

Keep it ILLEGAL in VA.
You can have MD and DC.
These two areas will become the next Detroit.
Watch and see you fagggggs

Closet homo poster above has some facts tho:

“Nearly all revenue brought in from marijuana sales in Colorado goes towards the bureaucratic infrastructure needed to oversee the program and to increased law enforcement to address increased dangers on the roads. What money is left over does not cover costs associated with increased roadway deaths, increased emergency room visits for people who ingest marijuana candy, and increased workplace accidents and absenteeism. A recent working paper about another eastern state, Rhode Island, demonstrated that even this limited subset of costs outweighed projected revenues—just like with alcohol or tobacco, which are big money-losers.”

Being a resident of Virginia, I am wholly in favor of legalizing marijuana in Maryland and the District. I'm also in favor decriminalizing it (with a few fairly large cut outs) in Virginia.

The first cut out would be that if you are found to be operating a motor vehicle while you're high, you'd catch a misdemeanor charge with mandatory jail time.

The second would be if you're found in possession of marijuana while you're operating a motor vehicle, there is an automatic presumption that you're operating a motor vehicle while high, and you catch the charge above.

The message needs to be, "Smoke dope and drive a car, and you're going to fucking jail." Not just bullshit fines and classes; at the very least you're going to be spending every weekend from Friday night to Sunday evening for the next year in jail.

Finally, no sales. If you sell marijuana to somebody or try the bullshit "buy a shitty poster/t-shirt/whatever and get a free bud" scheme they're using in D. C., you go to prison, not jail.
