Officers from the Motor Carrier Safety Unit conducted a safety checkpoint on Leesburg Pike yesterday. We inspected 17 trucks and found 56 safety violations. 8 trucks were taken off the road for serious infractions, and 2 drivers were taken out of service.
We do this to ensure that the heavy trucks we share the road with are in compliance with safety laws.

Was it one company they focused on, or were the trucks inspected at random?

I see these big ass dump trucks everyday on my commute! I will bet that if D.C. did something proactive like ffx co does, there would be less accidents.
Those dump trucks NEVER look well maintained.
