There are no snow days as of this year. Like other school districts in the area, if a day is missed due to weather issues, it must be made up. This stems from several winters of above normal snow, and the loss of critical instruction time.

Not true. Makeup days start with the 15th day.

FCPS has designed a calendar with exactly 180 days of instruction, the minimum from the Commonwealth. However, once we use a single day, we can fall back on the numbers of hours of seat time needed for each child, of which there is enough surplus hours in the year to allow for something in the neighborhood of 13 snow days worth of hours.
