On a handful of occasions I have gone to a grocery store to use the express lottery machine, and someone before me has left unused credits in the machine. Last night I went to the Safeway at Courthouse Plaza and there was $4.00 in the machine!

Those are powerball odds!

I use the self checkout at Giant all of the time. There's been more than one occasion where someone before me has left paper money in the change part of the machine. It's probably people asking for cash back and forgetting to pick it out of the tray.

The first time I had my son catch up to them in the parking lot.

The second time they left their receipt. The customer service desk was able to determine that it was one of the part time kids that did it.
