I take the failure of the meals tax as a vote of no confidnece for FCPS. For all they did, the negative campaign, sending notes home with kids and so on, it still failed.
In particular, this reprsents a serious setback for the career of Ryan McElveen.

The schools will punish the children over this.
Look for teachers "working to rule" by not writing college recommendations, etc.
Threats to cut band will resume.

Anyone who's ever been to the Fairfax County government Taj Mahal knows there's tremendous waste in Fairfax, and no need for tax increases. What Fairfax needs is to elect responsible adults, not spend-happy libs.

What makes you think they'll get voted out? They had already shown they were incompetent before this year's election and most of them were re-elected.

The school board does not understand that if they had any budget credibility it might have passed.
Their strategies for getting themselves elected do not carry to policy initiatives.
